About this project

About Animal President

Animal President is an independent civic reference project. It publishes plain-language voter guides that link each statement to its sources, so you can check the record yourself.

What the guide is, and isn’t

It is not a government document, an endorsement of any candidate or measure, or your personal sample ballot. Coverage is partial: the current edition covers selected races and measures for Plano, Texas, in the November 3, 2026 election. Always confirm with your county’s official sample ballot.

How it’s made

Official ballot and legal documents establish what a measure authorizes. Campaign pages establish what candidates say. Reporting on financial filings is labeled as reporting. Missing evidence is not proof of absence, and a donor relationship is not proof of control or wrongdoing.

Each edition shows when its sources were checked. Earlier editions stay in the permanent election archive, with a downloadable guide and source ZIP.

Privacy

The guide shows no ads and loads no third-party analytics. Optional feature counts are off by default, and your shortlist stays in your own browser.

Corrections

Spotted an error or a missing source? Use the feedback & corrections form. Every message is read by a person.

Support

The guide is free to read. Reader support is optional and goes through PayPal; checkout displays New Pencil. Use the Support button at the foot of the guide.
